Scottish Terrier Triumphs Again in
Sunday’s Second Kennel Club of Philadelphia Dog Show

It was a clean sweep this weekend for the nation’s top dog, as a charismatic black Scottish Terrier won Sunday’s second of two Kennel Club of Philadelphia Dog Shows at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA.  Nearly 1,400 dogs in 160 breeds and varieties had paraded through the rings on November 15, but despite stellar competition, “Sadie” prevailed once again in Best in Show after having won the first KCP show the night before.  Registered with the American Kennel Club as Champion Roundtown Mercedes of Maryscot, Sadie is owned by Amelia Musser of Mackinac Island, MI.

The sprightly coal-black Scottie is only the third Scottish Terrier to win here during the Kennel Club of Philadelphia’s 130-year history.  Sadie won her 102nd career Best in Show on Sunday, after winning her 101st at the KCP’s Saturday show.  That followed her Best in Show performances at the unbenched shows held here Thursday and Friday.  Never before had a dog swept the four shows in the Philadelphia cluster, but Sadie’s credentials were impeccable, as she entered the weekend ranked #1 in America during 2009.

Scottish Terrier Triumphs in Saturday’s Kennel Club of Philadelphia Dog Show;
Second All Breed Show to Follow on Sunday at Oaks, PA

More than 1,400 dogs in 160 breeds and varieties had paraded through the ring, but by 6 P Saturday evening, there was only one remaining in the spotlight at the first of two Kennel Club of Philadelphia Dog Shows.  Judge Mrs. Robert Smith of St. Stephens Church, VA awarded Best in Show to “Sadie”, a Scottish Terrier owned by Amelia Musser of Mackinac Island, MI.

The sprightly coal-black Scottie is only the third Scottish Terrier to win here during the Kennel Club of Philadelphia’s 130-year history.  She won her 101th career Best in Show at the first of two all-breed, benched dog shows presented by the Kennel Club of Philadelphia.  The Club’s second complete show will be held Sunday, November 15, again at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA.
